I am having a hard time inserting my Stelo Glucose Biosensor, what do you recommend?
If you’re having trouble inserting your biosensor, follow these steps to ensure proper placement and application:
- Prepare for insertion
- Wash and dry your hands.
- Choose a site on the back of your upper arm with enough fat to avoid muscle and that is not likely to be bumped, pushed, or slept on.
- Clean the site with an alcohol wipe and let it dry for at least 10 seconds.
- Insert the biosensor
- Grab the applicator and unscrew the cap. Do not touch inside the applicator.
- Press and hold the applicator firmly against your skin until the clear safety guard is pushed in.
- Press the button, then remove the applicator.
- Rub around the patch 3 times, then press on the biosensor for 10 seconds to help keep it in place.
- Apply the overpatch
- Carefully pull off both clear liners one at a time, avoiding the white adhesive area.
- Use the tab to place the overpatch around the biosensor (you may need to use a mirror).
- Rub around the overpatch.
- Use the tab to peel off the liner, then rub around the overpatch one more time.

Stelo biosensor insertion tips:
- Look in a mirror while positioning the applicator or applying your overpatch.
- Try reaching under and over your arm to find out which is more comfortable.
- Press and hold the applicator firmly against your skin until the clear safety guard is pushed in. Then push the button on the side of the applicator.
