Nutrition
You’ve probably heard that it’s a good habit to eat breakfast daily. But did you know that what, how much, and when you eat (and drink) is just as important? Food provides your body with energy in the form of glucose, giving you the fuel you need to carpe diem. With Stelo, you can see patterns in how your glucose levels react to what you eat and make adjustments that work for you.
Tip: Record what you eat and drink in the Events tab of your Stelo app, especially if you have a spike detected.
Challenge #1:
Become a breakfast detective
It’s time to get started on building lasting habits, first as your very own breakfast detective. You’ll experiment with different breakfast combinations over the course of a few days,* then see how they affect your glucose using Stelo. This can help you discover your personal winning breakfast combination.
Before you try the breakfast suggestions below, make a note of
your glucose, then check it again 1-2 hours after you eat in the Stelo app. This will let you see which foods may cause variations in your glucose levels. If you don’t see a spike, you’re on the right track.
Challenge #1: Days 1-3
Day 1: Keep it regular.*
Eat your regular breakfast foods. If you don’t normally eat breakfast, try eating a balanced breakfast using the Plate Method to see what kind of difference it makes in your glucose.

Day 2: Eat a balanced breakfast of healthy carbs and protein.*
Try pairing whole wheat toast with half an avocado, two eggs, and a handful of berries.

Day 3: Try a higher fiber breakfast.*
Experiment with adding more fiber to your breakfast, like pairing oatmeal with sliced almonds and berries, or opt for a bowl of bran flakes.

Challenge #2:
Unpuzzle your portions
Now it’s time to finish out the week by taking a look at your meal portion sizes and when you eat them.
Day 4: Space out your meals.*
Aim for a steady supply of glucose by spacing out meals and snacks (while also considering portion size) to help avoid glucose spikes, preferably with three balanced meals and two to three snacks.

Day 5: Pay attention to portions.*
Keep your eye and mind on your portion sizes to help achieve more stable glucose levels. One way to do this is by using the Plate Method. It’s easy and helps you understand how you can fill your plate with foods to create a balanced meal.
